Please read all the information below before submitting an application as a presenter.

In June of 2009 we will be presenting our third annual Hudson Valley Business Edge Conference for small to medium sized business owners and managers. Our conference serves three constituents, the attendees, the sponsors, and the presenters. We expect sponsors and presenters to find additional business opportunities as a result of their participation in this event.

This is a great event and we hope to find presenters who are as excited by this opportunity as we are. We wish to invite consultants for small to medium-sized businesses to submit an application for consideration as a presenter for this event.

Opportunities to present will be limited by the number of workshops we decide to offer and at the discretion of QED. In the past we have offered between 16 and 25 workshops over the course of the day.

Please submit your application by September 20th, 2008. Conference is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2009.

What you should know:

As we go in to our third year for Hudson Valley Business Edge, we are proud to say that with each conference, participation has doubled. Growth is always a good sign. What you should also know is that presenters and sponsors have expanded their own business through participation in this event.

Many have added several new clients as a result of their participation and that puts money in your pocket. One of my personal goals is to support my presenters and sponsors in making that happen. You are featured as a presenter on our website for the event as well as in our program. You also have the opportunity to submit articles to HVBJ as a presenter to help increase interest in you and your specific workshop.

Logistics:

The venue we provide for you is a great conference center, Fishkill Holiday Inn, for your presentation. You do not need to bring your own computer or projector. We provide state of the art audio visual equipment including: a Windows based laptop PC, an LCD projector, speakers if needed, and a presentation screen. You may send us your presentation for loading on your computer in advance, or if you prefer bring a stick or CD and we will get it set for you.

During the day, breakfast and lunch, as well as networking opportunities, are also provided. Because we want to make you famous, you also receive an ad in the program, your information on the conference website including a link to your own website, and exposure to attendees, sponsors and other presenters.

Your company will be mentioned in ads and you may submit articles for the Hudson Valley Business Journal for publication as they are a corporate sponsor for us.

Please completely fill out the information requested below and email an electronic version to Susan Quade. We will contact you if you are chosen as a possible presenter at the conference, at which time you will be asked to submit your ad for our program and we may request a personal or telephone interview.

NOTE: It is anticipated that presenters will attend other workshops during the day and be present for the evening cocktail hour networking. Please contact Susan Quade directly if you have questions.

If you are chosen to participate in this conference as a presenter, you will be expected to support the conference by doing one of the following:

  • personally sponsor at least two attendees from your client base or prospects to participate in the conference (Cost to you is $76.00 per person),
  • upgrade your ad in the program (Cost to you depends on the size of the ad),
  • Sponsor a table or part of the day’s activities (Table sponsor is $200 for a presenter), or
  • we can negotiate some other support method that appeals to you.

Please mark sections public or private if needed, public or unlabeled portions will be used in advertising, on the website, and in solicitation of sponsors for the event.

All workshops must be tactical in nature with genuine applications that can be used by attendees. Be sure to mention takeaways for attendees.

We do not seek a resume, but would like educational background as well as a small paragraph describing your experience. This should be something similar to the biographical data one would find on a book jacket concerning the author.
