Please read all the information below before submitting an application as a presenter.
In June 2010 we will be presenting our fourth annual Hudson Valley Business Edge Conference for small to medium sized business owners and managers. Our conference serves three constituents: the attendees, the sponsors, and the presenters. Every year, we have delivered additional business opportunities as a result of sponsor and presenter participation in this event.
Our vision is to deliver a unique educational experience where each presentation provides a minimum of 3 immediately actionable items for our attendees. This is not a pitch: we expect you to showcase your expertise and help educate your attendees.
This is a great event that has changed many businesses and lives in the past, and we hope to find presenters who are as excited by this opportunity as we are. We wish to invite consultants for small to medium-sized businesses to submit an application for consideration as a presenter for this event.
Opportunities to present will be limited by the number of workshops we decide to offer and at the discretion of QED. In the past we have offered between 16 and 25 workshops over the course of the day.

Logistics
Logistics are subject to change. We will notify prospective presenters & sponsors of changes.
Help educate local businesses at the Fishkill Holiday Inn conference center. We provide state of the art audio visual equipment including: a Windows based laptop PC, an LCD projector, speakers if needed, and a presentation screen. We prefer that you send us your presentation for loading on your room's computer in advance.
Plan to stay the whole day: breakfast and lunch, as well as networking opportunities, are also provided. Because we want to make our presenters famous, you receive an ad in the program, your information on the conference website including a link to your own website, and exposure to attendees, sponsors and other presenters.
You can help us build buzz for the conference by submitting press releases and educational articles to the Hudson Valley Business Journal for publication as they are a corporate media sponsor for the conference.
Gather your materials together and completely fill out the information requested below. The information you submit is used in our presenter selection process AND to list your bio & workshop on this website. If you do not wish to use the webform, please email an electronic version to Susan Quade. We will contact you if you are chosen as a possible presenter at the conference, at which time you will be asked to submit your business-card sized ad for our program. As part of our selection process, we may request a personal or telephone interview.
NOTE: It is anticipated that presenters will attend other workshops during the day and be present for the evening cocktail hour networking (generally runs through 8pm, sometimes later). This is a very long day, but those who stay the entire day get the most benefits. Please contact Susan Quade directly if you have questions.
If you are chosen to participate in this conference as a presenter, you will be expected to support the conference by doing one of the following:
- personally sponsor at least two attendees from your client base or prospects to participate in the conference (If you choose to pay for their admission, please discuss entrance fees with us),
- upgrade your ad in the program (Cost to you depends on the size of the ad),
- Sponsor an Expo table or part of the day’s activities (An Expo Table is $200 for a presenter), or
- we can negotiate some other support method that appeals to you.
Presenter Application
Note that presenting at our conference is not a guarantee of attendance at your workshop: attendees self-select based on the title of your workshop, the overall message you are delivering, their personal or business needs. Please be careful to market your presentation accurately so that you do not disappoint your attendees, and if you need assistance getting your message across, or coming up with a good name for what you want to deliver, please contact us.
