Bill Latta

Mr. William Latta was born and raised in Philadelphia Pa. A product of the Philadelphia Archdiocese schools and is a graduate from Bishop Neumann High School class of 1970.
Enlisting in the United States Navy in June 1970, Mr. Latta served aboard the heavy cruiser USS Newport News (CA-148), as a Petty Officer 3rd class in A-Division. While serving aboard Newport News in 1972, they completed seven months of Operations in Vietnam.
In 1975 Mr. Latta began working for the Federal Government as an apprentice welder at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Upon graduating as a Journeyman Welder, Mr. Latta transferred to the Field Maintenance Squadron (FMS) McGuire AFB NJ. While working at McGuire AFB in Maintenance in 1977, Mr. Latta joined the US Air Force Reserves as a C-141 Loadmaster. After eight years of serving as Reservist, Mr. Latta joined the Air Reserve Technician program working full time as an Instructor Loadmaster/Planner for the 702nd Airlift Squadron.
Upon retirement in 1994 from the AF Reserves Mr. Latta went to work for the Naval Air warfare center in Trenton NJ. Mr. Latta has worked in Public Affairs for Defense Logistics Agency in Philadelphia. Mr. Latta has been working at the United States Military Academy since May 2006, in Operations for the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility, and Security. Mr. Latta is currently studying for his degree in Communications with the Community College of Philadelphia. He and his wife Carmel live in Haddon Township NJ and have four children.
