Jeff Mehl
Registered Nurse by background, Jeff Mehl has owned and operated a small business for the past 22 years with his wife, Valerie. During this time Jeff has experienced all of the pitfalls of hiring, training and firing staff, paying the wrong consultants, and dealing with the "stuff" of business, including allowing his business to take over his life. He was married to his business and allowed his personal life to take a back seat for too many years. At a certain point, however, he realized that he was off-base - he discovered that his business should support his lifestyle, not become his lifestyle.
As that realization took hold, he also began to see that he was not alone. He found that many other small business owners were in the same boat. He was surprised to see that so many of us float along thinking that it's normal to lose the excitement and passion of our businesses as we give up our evenings, weekends, and family time. So many of us struggle with the sense that there just aren't enough hours in a day, or that we feel we have to do it all ourselves! Jeff is now starting on the road to recovery and wants to bring others with him.
Through this experience, he has become passionate about the need to use technology and outsourcing to enable small business owners to reclaim their lives and their passion while still maintaining the quality of their businesses. As a result, Jeff and Valerie started Daybreak Virtual Office Solutions which is a provider of virtual office support and staffing for small business owners.
Jeff and Valerie have been married for 38 years and have resided in Esopus, NY for the past 36 years. They have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren, and agree that grandkids really are among life's best experiences - even better than the originals!
