Marvin Fier is a dentist with offices in Rockland and Westchester. Being a sole proprietor, he functions as the CEO of a small business in addition to being a doctor. He is a sought-after speaker, regularly presenting post-graduate continuing education courses in the United States and globally. His presentations include both dental and business topics.
Dr. Fier is an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at Loma Linda University, New York University, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey to name just a few. He lectures at independent Congresses throughout the world, most recently having been a featured lecturer at the 3rd International Congress on Adhesive Dentistry in Xian, China. Regardless of where he presents, he says that “besides clinical dentistry, the topics of marketing, communication, and staff motivation are the areas most requested by my audiences.”
In the business area, Dr. Fier has studied neuromarketing and staff motivation. Maintaining a theme of ongoing improvement in his work and life, not long ago, he reached the Masters level of a coaching program which helped him develop better ways of communicating with his patients. “Distinguishing ourselves in our chosen fields is something we have to do in order to grow and ultimately thrive in business” says Dr. Fier. “The area of neuromarketing deals with how people make decisions and ways to be more effective in helping them reach good decisions.”
He sits on the Advisory Boards of many dental manufacturing companies, helping them to create products and techniques to improve oral health care and delivery. The American Dental Association invited Dr. Fier as a consultant to develop better patient education materials. As an author, he has published on clinical techniques, the connection between oral and systemic health, and how dentistry can improve the quality of your life.
Serving as the Executive Vice President of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics since 1992, he oversees all functions of this international non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a forum for increasing awareness of aesthetics in dentistry and treatment options that are available to enhance the quality of patients' lives. Dr. Fier, a graduate of NYU College of Dentistry also served in the U.S. Navy as a dentist.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry. He has been honored with Fellowships in the International Academy for Dental-Facial Esthetics, the Academy of Dentistry International, the International College of Dentists, and the American College of Dentists. The last honor is bestowed on only 3% of the dentists in America.
