Sher has worked and lived in Orange County for over 24 years. Sher did her formal education in Guyana, SA and the West Indies and credits in Special Education from SUNY New Paltz. Sher worked for 8 years in Pine Bush Central School District.
She is the president of the Cultural Equity Task Force in Orange County, Pine Bush Central School District school board of education member and sits on several other boards including the Diversity Appreciation Committee for Crystal Run Village, Inc., and member of the Diversity Task Force for Pine Bush Central School District. Sher was a recipient of the 2007 Human Rights Commission Award.
Sher lives in Bloomingburg with two of her three children.
