If someone had to pay for each of those workshops individually, it would cost them hundreds of dollars. QED's Hudson Valley Business Edge 2007 was a professional conference. I gotta tell you, Susan, I presented twice, which may have been a mistake. As planning progressed I looked at the list of workshops with more and more envy for participants who didn't have to be "on duty" during the event. I certainly made terrific connections when I presented, and I'm closing on contracts I made as a result of presenting. But as a dedicated lifelong learner I knew I was going to miss out on terrific opportunities to learn.

On the day of the event, the raving reviews of all the workshops from the attendees confirmed my suspicion. I'll have to be more careful about presenting at the next conference. I'm better off doing a rocking great job of the website, polishing the registration process to be as quick and painless as possible, and freeing up more time during the event to sit in on sessions and absorb the wisdom of my peers! I'm already looking forward to being at the next conference, and I'm brainstorming about workshops, panels, registration forms and more!

Can we up the ante? Most definitely!
